Vanarama National League club Aldershot Town bowed out of the Emirates FA Cup on Wednesday night as Sky Bet League One side Bradford City sealed a Second Round home tie with giantkillers Chesham United.
The Bantams are more used to being cup underdogs themselves after reaching the Quarter-Finals last season and they were fortunate not to go into half-time behind as the lively Shots caused them problems at the Coral Windows Stadium.
City had goalkeeper Ben Williams to thank for three decent saves from Richard Brodie, Sam Hatton and Jim Stevenson, while at the other end, Phil Smith tipped a Mark Marshall effort onto the post.
But the deadlock was broken just past the hour-mark when Greg Leigh scored a fine solo goal, taking a pass from Billy Knott in his stride before cutting in and chipping the ball over Smith.
And the home side made sure it was they who will take on Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division Chesham when they doubled their advantage from the penalty spot in the 76th minute.
Tony McMahon converted from the spot after substitute Luke James had been brought down in the box by Omar Beckles.
