Manager Neil Aspin has been rewarded for his success and hard work with a new two-year contract with….
…..Skrill Premier newcomers FC Halifax Town.
A topic of much discussion has been the question whether Aspin had been offered or signed a new contract, following the club’s promotion from the Conference North.
Chairman David Bosomworth explains: “Neil deserves a new, improved contract for the track record of results and progress the club has made over the last four seasons.
“With the support of all, we have adopted a very prudent approach to our recruitment, but it is the ability to mould sides capable of achieving results, that sets Neil apart. Three promotions in four years is testimony to that and having managed to complete the first two automatically, he has then successfully guided the Shaymen through the play-offs, against all the odds.
“The fixture backlog at the end of last season was a nightmare and to add in three intense play-off matches on top of all the fatigue would have finished most.
“With the support of the fans, everyone behind the scenes and with good management, the club has earned its first season of football in the Skrill Premier.
“We are all fully aware of the challenges ahead in the Premier, it is important that the fans fully support the club through season tickets sales and through the turnstiles, as we look forward to some great games.
“To see Luton Town, Grimsby Town, Chester FC, Wrexham to name but a few at the Shay Stadium, is reward for a lot of hard work throughout the club over the last five years. Neil and his assistant Lee Nogan will enjoy pitting their wits against some of the biggest clubs in non-League football, as the fixtures will come thick and fast. Well done Neil and all concerned.”
