Attacking midfielder Charlie Bailey says he could not turn down the chance to step up to the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division after arriving at Lancaster City.
Bailey spoke about the key factors in him deciding to make the move.
“It was a move that really ticked all the boxes for me, I just want to enjoy my football, I’ve heard about the way they train, it just felt like the right move for me.
“For me it is an opportunity to play at that higher level and that means if I want to progress up the leagues there may be more eyes on the games going forward.”
Charlie joins his brother Sam in moving across from Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One North outfit Kendal Town. Talking about playing with his sibling again, Bailey is looking forward to it.
“It’s brilliant, I obviously know him so well already, we have a good relationship. I would run through a brick wall for him and I know he would do exactly the same for me.”
“I’ll enjoy playing with him, that is my aim to get as much game time as possible.”
The former Morecambe player put pen-to-paper to commit to Giant Axe for the 2017/18 season, he may play against them tomorrow in a pre-season friendly. Bailey says he gained a lot from his time there.
“The training was really intense, being with the reserve team really helped me become a better player. To me I owe them a lot.
“I can’t wait to be facing them in pre-season, to be against a League Two side. I see it as a chance to prove myself.”
