East Midlands Counties League club Bardon Hill won the Leicestershire Senior Cup after a narrow and hard fought 1-0 win over Midland League Division One side Hinckley AFC.
The first half was a pretty even affair with, as it turned out, the only goal of the game coming from an Andy Fell header from a Louis Keenan corner.
Both teams had chances in the first period to change the scoreline, but were unable to find the back of the net.
The second period was very much a case of backs to the wall for Bardon as Hinckley piled forward in search of the equaliser.
Hinckley`s large and vocal support were urging their side on , but when they did get a sight of goal they could not find a way past Bardon `keeper Chris Martin, who had a superb game producing a string of fine saves.
Bardon defended resolutely and Hinckley became more and more frustrated as the game drew to a close.
After what seemed an eternity of added time the referee blew the final whistle, thus securing the Senior Cup for the first time in Bardon Hill`s 125-year history.
