Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division club Colwyn Bay, with a number of injury concerns for Saturday’s home game against top five side Barwell, have signed experienced goalkeeper Craig Ellison.

Keepers Shaun Pearson and Everton loanee Connor Hunt are both sidelined with knee injuries and although Kieran Wolland has done well, he is coming to the end of his initial month’s loan from Vanarama National League side Wrexham.

Twenty-eight-year-old Ellison’s former clubs include Crewe Alexandra, Altrincham, Halifax Town, Burscough, Vauxhall Motors and Stalybridge Celtic and last year, after coming back from serious injury, he won the North West Counties goalkeeper of the month award with Congleton Town before joining Droylsden.

He was a goalkeeping coach at Burnley’s academy and founded the Reflex goalkeeper coaching school in Manchester, which is one of the biggest in the country.
