Merstham have announced the signing of Dean McDonald from Ryman League Premier Division rivals Dulwich Hamlet.
McDonald’s previous clubs include Whitehawk and Sutton United.
He is comfortable both as a centre forward or playing in a deeper, more creative role as the number ten.
Manager Hayden Bird has known McDonald since his Farnborough days and is pleased to have added the popular front man to his squad: “Dean has both the ability and the experience to improve the Merstham team. We are delighted to sign such a talented player.”
With the players returning to pre-season on Saturday, Bird is already looking forward to the first outing next Monday at Colston Avenue against Carshalton Athletic.
“Going back to Carshalton is always enjoyable. I’m particularly pleased to play them in Peter Adeniyi’s first game. I’ve no doubt he will do very well for the club. For us, the game will be the perfect chance to see our new players and take a look at one or two triallists. The more established players will play at Farnborough the following Saturday”.
