Bishops Miss Chance to go Third

Bishop Auckland missed a chance to go third in the Ebac Northern League First Division when they lost 3-1 at Team….

…..Northumbria on Monday night.

Bishops got off to a bad start after just 3 minutes when John Redhead scored from a through ball to put TN ahead, but they levelled on 24 minutes when a TN defender turned an Arran Wearmouth cross into his own net.

Phil Lumsden was dismissed for TN, but Bishops had a bad last 20 minutes. Graeme Cairns restored TN’s lead, then Bishops midfielder Dion Raitt was dismissed for two yellows on 76 minutes.

Two minutes later, John Sherlock made it 3-1.
