Vanarama National league North club Brackley Town have announced the first player signings for the new season.

Manager Kevin Wilkin has re-signed Steve Diggin and signed Adam Walker and Jack Bowen.

Diggin returned to St James`s Park last season and was again the club’s top scorer and fans’ favourite.

Walker, 25, is a midfielder who joins from league champions Solihull Moors.

He played more than 130 games for Nuneaton Town, scoring 14 goals having begun his career at Coventry City for whom he made two first-team appearances in the 2008/09 season.

Jack Bowen is a young Northampton-based striker who joins after a successful season top scoring at ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier side Cogenhoe United before finishing the season at AFC Rushden & Diamonds where he featured in the Evo-Stik League Southern Division One Central play-off final.

He is the son of former Northampton Town striker Keith Bowen.

“I am pleased to make these signings this evening,” Wilkin said. “With further signings also agreed which will follow in the next few days, we already have the basis of a strong squad for next season.”
