Friday was a busy day at Blue Square Bet South club Eastleigh.
The arrival of centre back Gary Elphick was confirmed from league rivals Eastbourne Borough and is available for selection at Basingstoke Town today.
Twenty-six-year-old Brighton-born Elphick has also made two appearances for his home-town club as well as having experience with St Albans City, Aldershot Town and Havant & Waterlooville.
Leaving the club was Ali Fuseini. The former Millwall and Lincoln City midfielder, who only made one appearance for the club away at Eastleigh in December, has linked up with fellow Conference South side Bromley.
It was hoped that a second player would complete a transfer in to enable him to be available at Basingstoke, but negotiations are still to be completed, although it is hoped that the deal will be completed on Monday when an announcement of the players identity will be revealed.
Will Sturgess, who made one first-team appearance as a substitute in a pre-season match at Romsey Town but has failed to figure in the side since, although has been included in the reserve squads, has left the club to join Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division high-flyers AFC Totton.
Earlier in the week Joe Maxwell, who featured for the reserves earlier in the season but in previous years had appeared eleven times in the first-team, netting three goals, signed for Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) Premier Division outfit Winchester City.
