Graham Rix, head coach at Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) Premier Division club AFC Portchester, has been….

…extremely busy strengthening his squad for his first full season in charge.

Portchester have re-signed Daniel Bogard, who spent last season at the Wicor Recreation Ground and prior to that he was at New Milton Town and Blackfield & Langley.

Former New Milton Town player Liam Crosswell will be remaining at Portchester next season, whilst Jay Eames and Jordan Fancey, formerly of Moneyfields, will both also remain at the club next season.

Maxwell Gibson will also be staying, as will former Horndean player Josh Holmes, Matthew Pople, Bradley Stokes, Simon Stone – formerly of Fareham Town and Horndean – Luke Sweeney, formerly of New Milton Town, Daniel Thompson, a former Winchester City, Moneyfields, Follands Sports and Fareham Town player, ex-US Portsmouth man George Wells, former New Milton player Tom Froggatt, ex-Moneyfields man Craig Hardy.

Experienced Liam Horsted will also be staying at AFC Portchester. He started out at Portsmouth and had spells at Oxford United, Dunfermline Athletic, Cirencester Town, Havant & Waterlooville and Paulsgrove.

Ex-Moneyfields man Josh Maddison will also be staying at the Wicor Rec for another season, as will former US Portsmouth man Garry Moody and one-time Fareham, Blackfield & Langley and Gosport Borough player Robert Pittman and former US Portsmouth midfielder Kevin Pottage.

Luke Kendall is a new signing from Hayling United and before that he was at Moneyfields, while Steve Black has also joined from Hayling.

Black spent three seasons with the Humbugs and was at Horndean prior to that.

Rix completed something of a transfer coup, signing former Portsmouth youngster Lewis Stockford.

Stockford lists Havant & Waterlooville and Bognor Regis Town amongst his previous clubs.
