Lewes have announced that Alex Malins and Stacey Freeman have committed themselves to the Ryman League Division One South club for the 2017/18 season.
Malins has become one of the Rook’s most consistent players, putting in a series of assured performances at centre-back.
He also added goals to his game in the latter part of the season, scoring 3 times in the last two months of the season, and a peach of an assist for Jonté Smith in the 4-0 demolition of Molesey in late February.
Malins has clocked up eighty-eight appearances for the Rooks and will certainly be hoping to join Steve Brinkhurst and Chris Winterton in the centurions club next season.
Joining him next season will be his centre-back partner Stacey Freeman.
Freeman suffered an injury-hit campaign in 2016/17 after breaking his jaw in late pre-season and then suffering from a triple hernia in the closing stages of the season.
He will be having the hernias operated on in the close season, and so will miss the first couple of months of the 2017/18 campaign. However, with Malins, Lloyd Cotton and new signing Frankie Chappell all vying for places, there will be plenty of competition for the centre-back shirts next season.
