Skrill Premier club Chester FC have signed Matty Mainwaring on non-contract terms from Hyde FC.
Mainwaring, who was on loan at Macclesfield Town from Hyde earlier this season, started his career as a youngster at Manchester United before attending Preston North End’s centre of excellence and then signed for Stockport County in 2008.
The Salford-born midfielder won the chance to appear on the TV show ‘Really Bend it Like Beckham’ in 2004 and got the chance to meet the former England star.
Mainwaring is a former Republic of Ireland under-19 international and made his first senior appearances at Stockport in 2008/9, before making twenty-one League One games for the club in his first season as a teenager.
The 23 year old joined Hyde from Stockport after their relegation from the Conference Premier.
Mainwaring, who suffered a bad injury during pre-season for the 2009/10 season, has also had a spell at Hull.
