Mark Hume, manager of Evo-Stik South club Sheffield FC, has made his first signings of the new campaign, strengthening the management and coaching team.

Joining Hume and assistant-manager is Scott Maxfield, Lee Morris as player/assistant-manager and Matt Roney as player-coach.

Morris is a very well-known and prolific striker who has played for a number of clubs in the Northern Premier League, including Buxton, Droylsden, Frickley Athletic, Harrogate Town, North Ferriby United and Stalybridge Celtic.

Having had recent experience of management at Frickley Athletic and Goole AFC, Morris is looking to help Hume and Maxfield with team selection and preparation and on matchdays and will undoubtedly chip in with his fair share of goals as the season unfolds.

Roney needs no introduction to Club fans. He joined Sheffield FC in 2005 and has made well over 450 appearances, scoring over 50 goals.

Roney’s fitness, work-rate and commitment to the Sheffield FC cause are legendary and an example to all players who seek a career in non-League football.

The 2017/18 season is Roney’s testimonial year.
