Simon Colbran has been appointed as manager at Sussex County League club Redhill.
It follows an unexpectedly high volume of quality applicants who were invited for interview over the past three weeks, with Colbran being the outstanding candidate.
The Redhill Board believe that their new man who shares the club`s ambition to progress through the non-League Pyramid system has all the right credentials to take his new club forward with promotion to the Ryman League as the initial objective.
Colbran has an impressive managerial record, and having also had a distinguished playing career, his player contact is equal to anyone at this level.
His most notable achievement was taking Crowborough to the Ryman League as Sussex County League champions before moving on to Worthing where he enjoyed success including reaching the Ryman South play-offs.
One of his great strengths is his proven ability to develop talented youth players and promote them into senior football which is exactly in line with the Clubs youth development policy and ambition.
During the last twelve months Colbran has taken something of a sabbatical from football but has remained in constant contact with the many players who have worked with him over recent seasons.
Colbran places great importance in building relationships with supporters as well as his players. Changes in personnel can also be anticipated as he begins the task of assembling his new squad and preparing them for next season.
A club spokesman said: “These are exciting times at Kiln Brow with the added prospect of some of our brilliant youngsters coming through and looking for first team opportunities the competition for places is going to be fierce next season and we are all looking now to support Simon in his efforts to bring success to this club.”
