Pre-season finally got underway for Ryman League Premier Division club Metropolitan Police last Saturday with some familiar….
….faces being joined with new signings.
Those who have signed Ryman League forms who were not MPFC players last season included Billy Crook who played at Dulwich Hamlet, Ryan Watts (Tonbridge Angels) and Michael Charles (Poole Town).
There are others who trained and impressed and will be looked at in more depth this coming Saturday’s friendly with Hillingdon Borough
Cooper said: “I was very pleased with the turn out on Saturday morning. Alongside the core of last season`s squad we were delighted to see Billy Crook back after a season at Dulwich.
“Ryan Watts is an attacking full-back or midfielder who will give us the width needed now that Howard Newton has moved on. To be honest, we have been trying to sign Wattsy for the past four seasons but his desire to play in higher levels of football prevented us from signing him.
“Finally, Michael Charles trained and looked very sharp. He will score goals for us, alongside Bradley Hudson-Odoi I feel that we will have one of the most potent strike forces in the Ryman League.
“There were many others looking to impress and these will either be offered a deal after this weekend or not as I need to get the squad together early in order to forge relationships.”
