Conference Premier club Barnet`s Mark Byrne has signed for Sky Bet League Two side Newport County on a short-term contract until January.
Byrne is a versatile midfielder who can also operate on the wing and in defence.
He joined the Bees in June 2011 after spending the majority of the 2010/11 season on loan.
The 25-year-old Irishman began his career with Nottingham Forest making two League appearances for the former European Champions whilst also spending time on loan with Rushden & Diamonds where he won the player of the year award.
Byrne established himself as a regular starter in the 2012/13 season and, despite relegation, he impressed throughout the course of the season.
Byrne, who played under Exiles boss Justin Edinburgh during that spell with Diamonds, has been on trial with County during pre-season and scored at Evesham United last week.
