Steven Cunningham, manager of North West Counties League Premier Division club Colne, has announced the acquisition of two non-League attackers to bolster the ranks.
After both played a prominent role during Saturday’s 3-3 draw with Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division side Ramsbottom United, Cunningham announced the signings of Kenny Taylor and Sakeel Abdullah.
Taylor scored twice on Saturday and Abdullah played a hand in both goals, meaning both new faces are regarded as huge coups at the XLCR Stadium.
Joining summer signings Ben Allen, Ben Hoskin, Jay Hart and Dominic Craig in the squad, both bring a great pedigree to the club. Abdullah has figured for a number of non-League clubs in the past, including Nelson, Daisy Hill and 1874 Northwich, whereas Taylor has played under Cunningham at Padiham and has recently returned from a sabbatical in Australia.
Both signings turned down offers from elsewhere and instead claimed they are determined to fight for a starting place with the Reds.
Cunningham said; “I am delighted to have brought in these two players. They fit in with our ethos of young, hungry and skilful players and I can’t wait to get going now.”
