North West Counties League Premier Division club Nelson have announced the signing of experienced defender Phil Doughty.

Doughty started his career at Blackpool where he was their youngest player ever to play in the FA Cup at 16 in 2002.

The centre-half went on to play for AFC Fylde, Barrow AFC and Fleetwood before more recently playing at Bamber Bridge.

The 28-year-old is the second announced summer signing for the Admirals following the arrival of experienced striker Andy Bell, a former Brig team-mate of Doughty`s.
