Joey Dunn, the recently-appointed manager of North West Counties League Premier Division club Runcorn Linnets, has been successful in…..

…..signing a player he’s tried to sign on a number of previous occasions – Mark Houghton.

A swift footed forward, Houghton joins the Linnets after a second spell with Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North side Skelmersdale United.

A prolific goalscorer, who originally joined from Southport after playing regularly in the Blue Square Bet North, he moved on to Chorley in the summer of 2010 and returned to the West Lancashire College Stadium via Burscough, signing in September 2011.

Meanwhile, club captain Rob Whyte has signed for local neighbours and league rivals Runcorn Town.
