Striker Rob Edmans has returned to Blue Square Bet South club Chelmsford City after being released by….
……npower League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge by mutual consent on Thursday.
Edmans joined the club from Chelmsford at the start of last season but after breaking his leg he has struggled to find a place in John Still’s team.
With the arrival of Ben Strevens on transfer deadline day, chances would be further limited for Edmans, so it was agreed that he left the Daggers.
The tall striker had a distinguished record in college football having attended specialist sports institution Loughborough University from 2006.
After being scouted at Loughborough he played college soccer in Virginia for the Virginia Tech Hokies in the United States of America and made a massive impact prior to returning to England where he trialled with Southend United.
He signed for local sides Tiptree United and Maldon Town in 2007/08 and maintained his Leicestershire connections by appearing for Loughborough Dynamo in the Northern Premier League.
He impressed Chelmsford`s management during a pre-season game in 2009/10 when playing against them for Witham Town and signed terms soon afterwards.
Since being with the Daggers, he has had loan spells at Dover Athletic and Macclesfield Town before a temporary spell back at City got underway last October.
