Experienced Charles Joins Stratford

Carl Adams, manager of Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division club Stratford Town, has strengthened his squad.

Vastly experienced defender Anthony Charles joins from Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division side Halesowen Town and midfielder Jack Roberts has arrived on loan from Vanarama National League North outfit AFC Telford United.

Much-travelled former Aldershot Town and Northampton Town defender Charles joined the Yeltz in the summer

The highly experienced left-sided defender played over 180 games for Aldershot between 2008 and 2011, twice winning the player of the year accolade.

His other previous clubs include Crewe Alexandra, Hayes, Farnborough, Barnet, Northampton and Plymouth Argyle.

He played for Dunstable Town in the Southern Premier Division during the early part of last season after leaving Luton Town at the end of the 2013/14 season before joining Nuneaton Town.

He departed Boro in February and ended the campaign with Worcester City.

Roberts returned to the English game in the summer after spending time in the United States with Springfield Synergy FC.

Before going to the States he had spells with Leicester City’s academy and Lincoln City before joining home-town side Hinckley United for two seasons.
