Former Yeovil Town, Birmingham and Oxford United striker Howard Forinton has left struggling Woodford United, who….
….have lost every game so far in the Evo-Stik League Southern Division One Central.
The player-manager stepped down following last week’s committee meeting which resulted in the playing budget being cut.
Forinton said: “I was given assurances before I took over that the budget wouldn’t be cut. But last Tuesday the budget was reduced by 60 per cent and that meant three players I had just signed wouldn’t come.
“If it had happened after five months I could have accepted it but I’m disappointed it happened after just five weeks.
“But I fully understand that the future of the club comes first and they’ve done fantastic to stay at this level for such a long time.
“I told all the players of my decision before Saturday.”
