Influential striker and current top scorer Connor French has announced his departure from Ryman League Division One….
…..South club Walton Casuals in order to join Skrill South side Farnborough.
After thirty-two games following his move from Dulwich Hamlet, French has announced he will be leaving the Waterside to join former Stag Darryl Siaw at The Rushmoor Community Stadium.
French became a key player in the side, and despite originally starting as a centre forward, the departure of Bobby Traynor meant he led the line up front for the majority of the season.
Eleven goals later, the 21-year-old has ended his spell in an orange shirt which saw him pick up the man-of-the-match award four times.
Unfortunately, the targetman was unable to grab a hat-trick this season, coming closest with a brace in the first game of the season against Faversham Town. And with the centre forward preparing to sign his contract with Farnborough, in the coming days, he said: “A special thanks goes out to everyone at Walton Casuals, from the staff to the players.
“I made the decision to leave to play a couple of leagues higher and test myself against better defenders. However, I would like to especially thank Mark and Neil Hams for getting me fit and scoring the goals.”
