Good And Bad News For Buckingham

ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Division One club Buckingham Town have announced they have signed a….

….ten-year lease to continue playing at the Irish Centre in Bletchley – their home for the last two years.

The Robins were evicted from their long-standing Ford Meadow ground three years ago, spending a single season playing at the Winslow Centre before moving to Manor Fields in the summer of 2012.

It was hoped that the purchase and donation of Ford Meadow to the University of Buckingham by a former student might pave the way for the Robins to return to their traditional home, but with the former ground now in a very poor state of repair this is not likely to happen in the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, manager Neil Griffiths has resigned as Buckingham boss, having taken the reins in January 2013.

He plans a break from management after nine years running teams.
