Hastings United have wasted no time at all in appointing their new manager after confirming Adam Hinshelwood will take the reigns.
The Ryman South club were shock to learn that manager Darren Hare was to leave after a great season which saw the club score 128 league goals last season.
Hinshelwood has been chosen to replace him and will stay at the club until 2020.
“Hastings United are pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Hinshelwood as Manager on a 3 year contract and welcome him to the club,” the Arrows said in a statement.
“Adam will work on a full time basis both in his capacity as First Team Manager but also in the Hastings United/Sussex Coast College Football Academy alongside the Club’s coaching partner Skiltek Ltd.
“We believe Adam’s role will provide a good synergy between the Academy and the 1st team going forward which will hopefully create good home grown talent that can play for the 1st team.
“Adam came through the youth ranks at Brighton & Hove Albion FC for whom he ended up making 100 appearances. During this time he received several England Under-21 call ups. After leaving the Albion he made 15 appearances for Aldershot Town FC and 13 appearances for Wycombe Wanders FC before a serious knee injury ended his playing career.
“He then managed Selsey FC from 2009 to 2013 and Worthing FC from 2013 to 2015, where he gained an excellent reputation for developing young players. Adam’s latest post, which he leaves for the United hot seat, was at his original Club Brighton & Hove Albion FC where he was their Under-18s Assistant Coach.
“Adam is really looking forward to the challenge at United of working with the existing playing squad and bringing in new players, some of which have already been targeted, whilst also nurturing and developing the young talent that is coming through the United Academy. All at United wish Adam well.”
