Vanarama Conference club Gateshead have signed striker or midfielder Lynden Gooch on a month`s loan from Barclays Premier League side Sunderland.
Gooch joined the Black Cats` Academy on a two-year scholarship in the summer of 2012.
He arrived from California in the United States but holds a British passport.
He starred at high-school level in the US and subsequently came to the attention of Sunderland, who offered the player trials on Wearside.
Gooch impressed during his spell at the Academy of Light and was offered a permanent deal to join the club’s under-18s from the 2012/13 season.
Gooch made twenty-five appearances for the club’s under-18s during the 2013/14 season, before breaking into the under-21s during the latter stages of the campaign.
During the summer of 2014 the forward played a pivotal role for the USA under-20 side in the National Training Center Invitational Tournament win.
