Former Newport County boss Anthony Hudson has been appointed Bahrain under-23 manager.
The 30-year-old, who had a five-month spell as manager of the Blue Square Bet Premier outfit last year, has moved to Asia after being given the opportunity by former England under-21 manager Peter Taylor, who manages the senior side.
“I had met Peter Taylor a few times,” he said. “He wanted to appoint somebody into that role and I had got to know Peter in the last year and he gave me a call.
“I’ve done a lot of research and I am going over there with my eyes wide open and I am really looking forward to it, it’s a great opportunity.
“I am a young coach but I have managed over a 100 games professionally. I feel I am more than capable and qualified to do the job and I am excited.
“Long-term, the ambition is to work at the highest level and to get experience of working at an international level is really the experience of going over there.”
