Hayes & Yeading United have lost central midfielder David Ijaha to Vanarama Conference South rivals Whitehawk….
…..following a seven-day approach.
Ijaha is a powerful central midfielder who had been a long-term target for Hayes & Yeading boss Phil Babb, who finally got their man in August after he left relegated Tonbridge Angels.
He spent his youth years in the Wolverhampton Wanderers academy, moving through the levels to play reserve team football for the Molyneux side.
From there he moved south and in August 2010 joined Harrow before following manager David Howell to St Albans City where he was appointed team captain.
He joined the Angels around Christmas in 2012 and quickly became the engine room of their midfield.
Having spoken to the Hawks and being offered terms in excess of his deal at United, Ijaha has advised Babb that he will be moving to the south coast and has signed for the Hawks.
