Simon Lenagan, manager of Old Woodstock Town, has decided to step down as manger after taking the Uhlsport…
….Hellenic League Premier Division club to their highest league position in their history.
Over the past few years Lenegan has taken the club from the bottom of Division One to a competitive ninth place in the Premier Division.
Due to increasing work commitments and the fact that he travels from London for each game, Lenegan has decided to spend some time with the family on a Saturdays for the next season!
The Old Woodstock Committee have put on record their thanks for all the hard work and commitment Simon Lenegan has put in, and he leaves them a much better club than when he started his managerial role.
Chairman Ted Saxton said: “Simon has worked hard over the past few years in difficult circumstances as we have had to move around grounds while we are applying for floodlights at our ground in Woodstock.
“Simon has always been supportive of our attempt to get floodlights and we thank him for this. He has lead us to our best ever position in the league and not forgetting our fantastic run in the FA Cup and Vase this season. We will be looking for a replacement for Simon in the next month.”
