Midfielders Andy Jenkinson and Kieran Forbes have signed for Vanarama National League South club Maidenhead united with veteran goalkeeper Kieron Drake expected to sign next.
Jenkinson featured throughout the pre-season programme.
Twenty-year-old Jenkinson started his career at Reading, joining Basingstoke Town when he was released by the Royals in 2013.
He appeared for ‘Stoke more than 50 times over the last two seasons scoring against the Magpies in March 2014’s 2-2 draw at the Camrose.
Forbes is a versatile central midfielder who had a successful anonymous trial outing for United against Reading under-21s on Saturday.
Forbes started his career at Watford, moving onto Wealdstone when he was released by the Hornets.
After a couple of seasons with the Stones, he signed for Forest Green Rovers for whom he made over 100 full appearances in the Conference National.
Whilst at Rovers he was capped four times by the England C team, and spent most of last season on loan at Aldershot Town, ending the campaign at Sutton United for whom he played against the Magpies in the final league game of the season.
Drake has re-joined United primarily as a goalkeeping coach, but will also be used to provide cover for Carl Pentney on the bench.
Drake had a long career in the Thames Valley playing for Thatcham Town, Hampton & Richmond Borough, Marlow, Slough Town, Windsor & Eton, Andover, Basingstoke Town as well as the Magpies for whom he made 37 full appearances over two seasons.
Whilst at United he was part of the team that won the 1999 County Cup and was in goal on the unforgettable night in May 2000 when Alan Devonshire’s team beat champions Croydon to secure promotion to the Isthmian League Premier Division.
