Ryman League Premier Division club Wealdstone have signed the vastly experienced Scott McGleish from league rivals Enfield Town.

McGleish has scored 209 Football League goals in 692 appearances in an eighteen-year professional career covering spells at Charlton Athletic, Leyton Orient, Peterborough, Colchester, Cambridge United, Barnet, Northampton, Wycombe Wanderers and Bristol Rovers.

Although now 39, he netted nine goals for Bristol Rovers last season but was released at the end of the season and opted to go part-time with Whitehawk despite an offer to stay in the Football League.

He switched to Enfield at the end of 2012, but decided to accept the approach from Wealdstone and join them for the final phase of the season, hoping to boost their promotion challenge.

He joined with Town having had a poor run of results and his goalscoring prowess made a big difference to their league position this season.

The Stones have also signed defender Claudiu Vilcu, whose previous club was Speranta Crihana Vechi in Moldova.
