Lee Casswell, manager of Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South club Leek Town, welcomed back his….

….players on Saturday as they reported for the first session of pre-season training.

A good proportion of last season’s squad were present, with a few more who were missing for differing reasons also expected to report back for duty shortly.

A midfielder and a striker were also in attendance who it is hoped will sign for the forthcoming season.

In accordance with club policy no names of players to be signed will be released until registration forms have been completed and filed with the league, which can be done from July 1st.

One player who looks to be on the way out of Harrison Park is forward Ben Mills, who rejoined the club towards the end of last season. It is thought he will be linking up with league rivals Newcastle Town.

Jordan Johnson has joined up with his former club, Welsh Premier outfit Airbus UK Broughton for their Europa League campaign, whilst John Johnston is now with Crewe Alexandra and may well line against Blues in their friendly towards the end of July.

The squad have just two weeks to prepare for their opening pre-season game which is against Sky Bet League One side Port Vale at Harrison Park on Saturday, 12th July.
