Much-Travelled Christie Joins Greenbacks

Much-travelled forward Iyseden Christie has joined Evo-Stik League Southern League Premier Division club Bedworth United`s bid to avoid relegation.

Christie joins the Greenbacks from Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division side Sutton Coldfield Town, where he had been for a couple of months after joining from league rivals Barwell.

Christie began his career as a trainee at Coventry City in 1995. He made his Premier League debut in September 1995, appearing as a second half substitute in Coventry’s 5–1 defeat away to Blackburn Rovers.

He made one further appearance, in the League Cup before joining AFC Bournemouth on loan in November 1996, followed by a loan spell with Mansfield Town from February 1997 before moving into non-League football.

He has had a plethora of clubs since then, including Kidderminster Harriers, AFC Telford United, Tamworth, Kettering Town and Nuneaton Town.

More recently he has been playing Halesowen Town and Barwell and made his Greenbacks debut as a substitute in their 1-1 draw with Paulton Rovers on Saturday.
