New Keeper and Defender for Chippenham

Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division club Chippenham Town have signed experienced defender Clayton Fortune and goalkeeper Ben John.

Twenty-nine-year-old centre back Fortune featured against the Bluebirds in the FA Cup for Southern Division One South & West side Mangotsfield United last month and has now opted to make the switch to Hardenhuish Park.

Fortune made fifty-three League appearances for Bristol City as well as spells at Port Vale, Leyton Orient and Weston-super-Mare.

After leaving Aldershot Town, Fortune missed the 2011/12 season before joining Mangotsfield this summer.

John is a highly-rated keeper who was in his third season with another Southern Division One South & West outfit, Cinderford Town.

The 29-year-old`s previous clubs include Almondsbury Town.
