Newton Leaves – Three Come in at Barwell

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division club Barwell have lost top scorer Danny Newton to Skrill North side….

….Brackley Town but have brought in three players.

Newton, who was with the Canaries on loan last year, signed on a permanent basis from Conference Premier outfit Nuneaton Town in the summer and scored ten goals in thirteen games.

Newton was formerly with Hinckley United.

Moving into the Leicestershire club are Joe Halsall from Calor League Southern Division One South & West side Stratford Town and Tamworth duo Connor Gudger and James Wren.

Forward Halsall joins from Stratford having only recently recovered from a broken nose.

He was previously with Redditch United and helped Stratford to win the Midland Alliance title last season.

Midfielder Gudger returns on loan from The Lamb, having started the season with Barwell and then returned to his parent club for the required time before being able to rejoin the Canaries on loan.

A product of the Coventry City Academy, Gudger signed for the Lambs in the summer of 2011.

He was previously with Hinckley United on loan from the Sky Blues and enjoyed another spell at the Knitters on loan from the Lambs last season.

Wren is a former Walsall youth team goalkeeper who joined the Lambs at the start of the 2012/13 season after his release by Burton Albion.
