Pip Nolan has joined his former Team Solent team-mate Toby Adekunle in signing for Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West club AFC Totton for the 2017/18 season.
Nolan is local to the area and having been a consistently excellent performer on the Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) scene he is not entirely new to the Southern South & West, having played a handful of games for Winchester City as a youngster.
Nolan is a technically gifted player that has operated as a ball-playing centre-back in a three-year trophy haul for Team Solent, but is equally at home in midfield.
Manager Louis Langdown said: “Pip adds quality to the squad and will get our passing game going from the off. At 24 he represents some experience and his calmness in possession of the ball is something Adam, Jamie, and our chairman Wayne all commented on when we spoke about our player targets for this season. He’s been coached well by Kevin and Jimmy at Solent and we’ve all watched Pip over the last months of the season to know we have a good player on our books.”
Nolan is another player to choose AFC Totton over a host of local sides offering greater financial rewards than the Stags can match.
Langdown and his staff have made it clear that players coming to the club must have a desire to pay for the shirt and an ambition to progress as players and Nolan, along with Adekunle, Alfy Whittingham and Shane Murphy have all shown this.
