Defender Matt Young departed Ryman League Premier Division club Billericay Town yesterday after his agent arranged him a trial with League Two side Exeter City.
Although only 22, Young has a wealth of experience. At 16 he signed a two-year scholarship with Premier Division giants Southampton before gaining a two-year professional contract with the Saints.
The Romford-born right-back then signed for Sheffield Wednesday.
Last season saw him loaned out to League Two side Carlisle United where he played twenty games as well as with Vanarama National League clubs Dover Athletic and Kidderminster Harriers.
Young’s place in the squad goes to a much-needed striker in Greg Cundle, who comes in on loan from League One side Gillingham.
Cundle has signed until January 2nd, 2017 and is available with immediate effect.
The 19-year-old, who was on the bench last night for Gillingham, spent loan periods at Ryman Division One South side East Grinstead Town last season, netting 14 times, before moving on to Ryman Division One North outfit Tilbury, where he scored 4 in seven games.
After this he stepped up to the National League South with Margate where he scored in a very impressive debut at Maidenhead United.
