Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North leaders AFC Fylde`s striker Keigan Parker has secured a contract….

….with Scottish First Division side Ayr United.

The 29-year-old made twenty-eight appearances for the Coasters and scored thirteen goals.

Parker is delighted to moving back to Scotland and was at the goalless draw with Warrington Town last Tuesday night to say good bye to his Fylde team-mates.

“It’s a great chance for a fresh start back in Scotland for me and I am looking forward to it. I have enjoyed my time at Fylde and it’s been a good period for me playing games and scoring goals which I needed when I became a free agent last summer. I wish the people at the club all the best for the future.”

Fylde boss Dave Challinor said: “Keigan has actively been looking to re-locate to Scotland and Ayr contacted us last week about his availability and made him an offer to go back into full time training so it’s an opportunity for him to start again.

“The only disappointment from our point of view was that he played for Partick Thistle in a trial game and didn’t tell us about it until the call from Ayr came. He’s still 29 and should now be in the prime of his career – he just needs to continue to work hard and get his head down to revive his career – good luck to him.”

Chairman David Haythornthwaite thanked Parker for his stint at the club. “On behalf of the directors and officials of the club I’d like to thank Keigan for his contribution since he joined us earlier this season. His time at Fylde was good for him and for the club but he has always had aspirations to get back into full time football so we wish him well on his move.”

Parker joins Ayr, who are currently bottom of the Scottish First Division. However, in the cup competitions it’s been a different story as they were only just edged out 1-0 by SPL side Kilmarnock in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park last weekend.

He will now be working with former Blackpool and Rangers defender Brian Reid, who is Ayr’s manager. Ironically he will also team up with two young Blackpool players on loan at Ayr one of which is Adam Dodd brother of AFC Fylde’s Ryan Dodd.
