Portsmouth have agreed that forward Dan Thompson can join Ryman League Premier Division club Bognor Regis Town….
….on loan until mid-February – and this could be extended by mutual consent.
Thompson started his career at Hampton & Richmond Borough in the Blue Square Bet South where he made his debut as a 16-year-old. He scored his first goal against Woking three days later.
His performances attracted much interest from bigger clubs and he went on trial at Stoke City, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers before joining Portsmouth towards the end of last season.
The npower League One outfit put him out on immediate loan for the remainder of the season at Havant & Waterlooville where he made thirteen appearances in the Conference South.
He made his first-team debut earlier this season for Pompey in a League Cup match against Plymouth Argyle. He has also been on loan at Conference South side Dorchester Town, scoring twice in five matches, and featuring in their televised FA Cup win over Plymouth Argyle.
