Experienced striker Spencer Weir-Daley has left Vanarama National League North club Corby Town and joined Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division neighbours Kettering Town on loan for the remainder of the 2015/16 season.
The 30-year-old ended last season at the Steelmen’s top scorer. However, he has netted just four times during an injury-hit campaign so far.
Corby manager Tommy Wright said: “It’s been a tough year for Spencer. He had a bad pre-season with a couple of little injuries and he found himself out of the side when we brought Tshimanga in from MK Dons.
“He is a player that I worked very hard to bring in to the club, but sadly it hasn’t quite worked out this season.
“We have had a few centre-forwards but, at the same time, Spencer has still scored 4 goals and hasn’t started many games so his goals to starts ratio is good.
“I think Spencer needs a new challenge and our squad could maybe do with a new face or two.”
