Ian Craney has left Skrill North club Stockport County to join Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division…

….strugglers Stafford Rangers on loan for the remainder of the season.

Craney began his career as a junior at Everton, before joining then Conference Premier side Altrincham, moving on to Accrington Stanley in 2004.

After a successful period at Stanley he joined Swansea City on loan in November 2006 before signing on a permanent deal in 2007 for £150,000. He returned to Accrington on loan before re-joining them in early 2008.

Early in the 2008/09 season, Stanley accepted an undisclosed fee from Huddersfield Town for the midfielder.

In July 2009 Craney, and his Town team-mate Phil Jevons, joined Morecambe on a season-long loan deal, but injury cut short his loan forcing him to return to the Galpharm in April 2010.

His contract at Huddersfield terminated, he joined Fleetwood Town for the 2010/11 season before joining former club Accrington Stanley for a third spell, on loan. He re-joined Stanley on a permanent basis, his third full-time spell with the club.

Having been released at the end of the 2011/12 season he joined Rochdale where he made seven appearances before joining AFC Telford United in February 2013 before switching to County the following May.

He goes straight into Rangers squad for the visit of Droylsden tomorrow.
