Guisborough Town faltered in their Ebac Northern League First Division title challenge when they were held to a 1-1 draw at Whitley Bay on Tuesday night.
Guisborough took the lead after 20 minutes with an excellent left-foot shot by Stephen Snaith, and Bay levelled through a solo goal by Alex Kempster.
The result leaves Guisborough ten points behind leaders Shildon on the same games.
Third-placed Newton Aycliffe lost 2-1 at home to Seaham Red Star.
Newton Aycliffe took the lead after 17 minutes through Dennis Knight, but Seaham hit back with goals by David Palmer and Chris Lynch before half-time.
Dunston UTS beat Bedlington Terriers 3-0 at the UTS Stadium.
Dunston took the lead in the first attack of the game when Malky Morien beat the offside trap and scored, but they didn’t get the second until the 75th minute when Marc Dummett put through his own goal.
Aristote Guerin made sure late in the game.
Washington moved up to fourth with a good 2-1 away win at Ashington.
Washington took the lead after 4 minutes through Chris Winn, but Ashington equalised through Damien Stevens.
However, Michael Tait fired the winner near the end.
Sunderland RCA drew 2-2 with Newcastle Benfield.
Former Darlington player Liam Hatch headed Sunderland RCA in front, but Paul Brayson levelled from the penalty spot just on half-time.
Clayton Davis put the RCA back in front on the hour-mark, but Dan Taylor equalised for Benfield in the last minute.
Third-bottom Durham City lost 4-0 at home to Morpeth Town, who are now third.
Morpeth took the lead with a shot by Dale Pearson from the edge of the box, then former Durham player Callum Patton got the second.
Chris Reid, making his debut, got the third with a diving header, and Luke Carr made it 4-0 from the spot.
In the Second Division, Thornaby won 2-0 at Alnwick Town, thanks to two goals by Rocky Andrews.
In the Ernest Armstrong Cup, Michael Hepplewhite gave Chester-le-Street the lead against Northallerton Town, but Elliott McGlade equalised for the visitors.
Simon Pinkney then put Northallerton in front, with Andrew Ramsbottom making sure.
Sunderland Ryhope CW won 1-0 at Whickham, thanks to a Josh Home-Jackson goal.
