Ryman League Premier Division club Carshalton Athletic have lost full-back Michael Boateng.
Bristol Rovers have signed Boateng on a one-year deal.
The 19-year-old right-back has been on trial with Rovers for the last few weeks and has impressed during the pre-season friendly matches.
Boateng, who was playing for Carshalton last season, was recommended to the club by Lennie Lawrence.
He started his career at Crystal Palace as a school boy, before doing his scholarship with Blue Square Bet South outfit Woking.
He said: “At Carshalton Lennie Lawrence played a big role and I got a call from my agent saying I had been watched by Bristol Rovers and Lennie recommended me to Paul Buckle.”
