With uncertainty over Niall Cooper`s back injury Chris Keogh, manager of Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division….

….South club Sutton Coldfield Town, has moved to sign former Irish international David Bevan from Blue Square Bet North side Hinckley United.

Bevan began his career with Aston Villa in the Premier League, but left for npower League One side Walsall without making a first-team appearance at Villa Park.

After a single season at Walsall, he dropped to non-League football.

Bevan has also represented the Republic of Ireland at under-15, 16, 17 and 19 youth levels.

Keogh told Pitchero: “We are very lucky to get a keeper of Bevs quality. He lives on the doorstep and I know him from the area.

“We don`t know how long Niall is going to be out until his scan results come back so we had to act and bring in another keeper. Bev was playing pro football last year so his experience will be key.”
