Rugby Town have announced the arrival of 33-year-old former Wrexham assistant-manager Gary Mills as the Evo-Stik League Southern Division One Central club’s new first-team manager.
Mills, who quit Wrexham shortly after the sacking of manager Kevin Wilkin last month, started out as a youngster with Coventry City.
His has played at Football League and Conference level with stays at Rushden & Diamonds, Crawley Town, Tamworth, Kettering Town, Stevenage Borough. Mansfield Town, Bath City, Nuneaton Town, Lincoln City, Boston United and then with King`s Lynn Town before moving to north Wales in the summer of 2014.
He has won promotion to the Football League with Diamonds and lifted the FA Trophy with Stevenage Borough.
He teamed-up with Wilkin at Wrexham having previously worked with his former Diamonds team-mate at Nuneaton Town, when signing from Bath in October 2011.
He was part of the side that was victorious in the Conference North play-off final that earned promotion to the Conference National in 2012.
