Seven games in the top flight of the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League on Saturday produced….
….just fourteen goals, and one side, Saltash United, scored nearly half of them!
The Ashes romped to a 6-0 win away at Bovey Tracey as they climbed the table to fifth.
The top two in the table both played at home and both won again as Exmouth Town and Ivybridge Town are both on fifteen points from six games, and with identical for and against records, Exmouth are top purely as E comes before I in the alphabet!
Exmouth had a 2-0 win over Godolphin Atalntic at Southern Road which was the G’s first defeat since being promoted in the summer and was revenge by Exmouth for losing to them in the Charity Vase a month ago.
Ivybridge had their win in a 2-1 success at home to Torpoint Athletic at Erme Valley.
The only other winners, indeed scoring, came at Bickland Park where Launceston beat Falmouth Town 2-1 sending the hosts to a sixth straight defeat and the bottom of the table. Cullompton Rangers, who had occupied twentieth place got off the bottom with a 0-0 draw at home to Liskeard Athletic today.
Two other games also ended in 0-0 draws with Elmore and St Austell goalless at Horsden Park and over at Edge Down Park, 4th placed hosts Witheridge drew 0-0 with third-placed visitors, Camelford to retain the status quo.
