Terry Spillane, manager of Ryman League Division One North club Thamesmead Town, who unveiled the signing of experienced goalkeeper Andy Walker from Harlow Town recently, has dipped into the transfer market once more to add two more to his squad.
Spillane has signed winger Nathan Koranteng, who joins forces with Spillane again as he was his last signing when he was in charge at league rivals Maldon & Tiptree.
He started his career as a youngster at Peterborough United, for whom he made four first-team appearances, before enjoying a spell at Woking, Boreham Wood, Tonbridge Angels, St Neots Town, East Thurrock United, Aveley and the Jammers.
Spillane has also enticed 23-year-old Romford skipper Jack Barry to Bayliss Avenue after he made 228 appearances and scored 33 goals for the Essex outfit.
Spillane said: “Three great signings for the club which I think will show a lot of people just what are aims are for the coming season.
“It’ll be great to work with Nathan as I didn’t really get a chance to at Maldon. I’ve kept tabs on him and I’m pleased to say that when the chance came he signed.
“Andy Walker in my view is one of the best keepers at our level and with all the experience that he has. It speaks volumes of the targets we’re aiming for as a club. I hope that signings such as these and the ones that we’ve already made are a true indication just where we’re hoping to go with the club this season.”
The Mead have also confirmed that Michael Aziya has re-signed for the 2015/16 season.
