Bertie Brayley who turned out for Essex United earlier this week and scored a stunning goal, has now signed for Ryman….

…..League Division One North club Heybridge Swifts to aid their quest for promotion.

He will now be ready to make his Swifts debut at Thamesmead Town on August 20th.

The vasly experienced and well-travelled Brayley ended last season with Swifts` league rivals Harlow Town but, having begun his career with West Ham, QPR and Swindon, is perhaps best known for his time with Canvey Island.

Brayley also made several appearances for the England learning disabilities team as they reached the quarter-finals of the INAS World Football Championships in 2006

Swifts manager Mark Hawkes said: “He’s a superb player and should probably be playing at a higher level.

“He’s played for the club before and played for me before, so I know him well.

“He’s got the right attitude and the right work-rate and he’d certainly give us that bit more quality in the final third.”
