Baris Northern Counties East League Premier Division club Staveley Miners Welfare`s midfielder Aymen Tahar has left…
…Inkersall Road to pursue a professional career in Eastern Europe.
Tahar, 23, is an Algerian who played for Sheffield United, and spent a brief time on trial with Hungarian outfit Ferencvárosi TC.
He joined the Blade’s academy in 2005 and progressed through the ranks to become a regular in the reserve side by the 2008/09 season, before being released at the end of that season.
Tahar, who has been a massive influence on Staveley’s success in the league and FA Vase, has been on trial in Antalya in Turkey for a Romanian First Division side, CS Gaz Metan Medias.
They have since offered him a contract which he has accepted and signed and Tahar has now flown out to Romania to begin his career there.
Staveley will miss the midfielder who netted twenty goals last season and, even though he hasn’t scored as frequently in this campaign, no-one doubts his on-the-ball ability and he goes with the club’s blessing.
