Rhys Taylor has signed on for the coming season with Vanarama Conference Premier club Macclesfield Town on non-contract terms.
The former Chelsea trainee came through the ranks at Stamford Bridge to a level where he featured for the youth side where he helped them reach the FA Youth Cup final and then Reserve side as well as sitting on the bench for Premier League matches as cover for injury.
He has gained senior experience with loan spells, first at QPR as cover in 2009/10 before joining Crewe Alexandra for the 2010/11 season, playing in all three clashes with the Silkmen during that season as he made 44 appearances in all competitions for the club.
The second half of the 2011/12 season saw him on loan at Rotherham United helping them to tenth place in that season’s League Two table.
After his release from Chelsea he began last season at Preston but was released joined the Silkmen on deadline day in January, making his debut in the 4-0 win at Ebbsfleet United the following day. He then signed permanently for the season and has since established himself in the first-team.
